I pop up when I realize it's about sunrise and when I hit the beach I see Barbara ahead of me! And Jan and Betsy are coming right behind! We walk for quite a way until we've exhausted the photo potential and turn around to go back. We run into Karen, too, and people scatter to prepare for the day. Gradually everyone appears for breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, and black beans and we are ready to go to Puerto Angelito for our boat ride to see the sea turtles and the dolphins!

| The two sides of the highway are at different elevations with drainage in between. |
We're so lucky! We start right off with a pair of Olive Ridley turtles increasing the turtle population, and move on to a group of dolphins putting on a show for us. Well, actually they're eating but we enjoy watching their antics!
| It's take two to tango. |
| Barbara has a new pair of butterfly wings! |
| Mine... |
| And Barbara's! |
| Barbara took time out to catch the rest of us! |
| "And they get sooo big!" |
| We're told that this can last twelve hours...not to embarrass anyone, |
| or make anyone feel inadequate, or deprived. |
| Well drat! Blogger won't let me add this video, so ask me to see it if you're interested! |
Our boat became a taxi, bringing in people who had anchored off shore.
Yes, it says that.
| So many people! |
When we've had enough of the sun and the waves and the wind, Ginger tells our faithful captain we're ready to go back and wouldn't you know it, we are ending our adventure with a bang! There's our favorite turtle pair - or maybe their cousins, it's pretty hard to tell them apart - putting on some adult entertainment for us!
Back on shore Juan is waiting for us and points us toward a restaurant right on the beach. There is a round of Coronas and piña coladas and soon more deliciousness appears. My choice is the ever-popular coconut shrimp. They take a bit longer to arrive; but they are well worth the wait! And there are plenty to share!
Our beaches don't have this kind of obstacle course!
| Yes! Water! And in case the pitcher is too heavy, there's a ladle! |
Ceviche!
And coconut shrimp to die for!
Actually, someone did! (too crass and heartless? Sorry!)
| Too good to waste! (Only a daughter could take this!) |
There's a little time for shopping on the way back and Barbara and Jan both make splendid choices! then it's back to the van for a bit of well-deserved free time! But first there is a bank stop and, more importantly, a beer and wine stop! Then we're home. Hanging out in the almost-cool pool water and just letting go - who knew we needed that? And the creamy chocolate mezcal doesn't hurt and neither does the first bottle of wine!

Our driveway is lined with cacti.
Barbara's new I Dream of Jeannie outfit!
We reprise last night's dinner, which everyone loved, and sit and chat and laugh and relax. Ginger brings out a new game and I think it's my new favorite! It's called Herd Mentality and I haven't laughed that hard in, maybe, decades!! Highly recommended!!! Gradually people drift off to bed until Ginger is the last one up, swimming leisurely laps in the pool with the sound of the crashing waves as her only company. |
One card to help me remember the game! Ask for details if you care! And, yes, you can make it a drinking game! |
One to remember!
